APPHOLD LTD

we value freedom

About Company

APP HOLD LTD was founded in 2019 aiming to achieve best results in creating high-quality applications and software related to privacy of the Internet users.

Currently maintaining applications in-house, but expecting each app’s source code to be public, as privacy and security starts with publicity and public aknowledge.
We are a small team of bright and talented people, who put their time and effort into creating new trend in industry, where applications stop retrieving and storing information of users and let users decide if any information should be gathered.

APP HOLD LTD is dedicated not only to create, but also support projects and products of same ideology.

APP HOLD LTD is a start-up company, ready to cooperate with funds and private investors.

Current Projects

Cipher is a serverless messenger based on TOR-Network, IPFS and ETH Blockchain. Cipher is using top-notch technology stack in order to keep information secure. P2P-based architecture prevents any mid-servers, where messages could potentially be stored. Cipher has 3 layers of encryption, using AES256 and RSA as algorithms. Cipher is open-sourced.

About Team

We are a small team of enthusiasts, striving our bests to bring privacy back to the Internet. Our main goal is to raise attention to current issues of the Internet, where huge AI-based corporations gather data and profile users based on it. The amount of laws, which prevent Internet's privacy increases every year and we are really concerned with it, since most of the laws can't be pursued, but only exists in order to allow governments to join corporations and gather as much information as possible. We never use any of proprietary software and/or algorithms, since open-source solutions are maintained with groups of enthusiasts, who share our views. Open Source Development helps us with the products we create, since not only APPHOLD's team reviews the code, but independent developers too.

How it works?

Secrecy of correspondence is every human’s right, which is as crucial as the right to life because the information is the most valuable resource of mankind. Instant message exchange services, so-called messengers, are being developed every day, but not all are trusted. Security as one of the main criteria of the appraisal is nowadays stated as most important.

Meanwhile, the number of new messengers on the market is enormous; most of them focus on secondary features, leaving security behind. The encryption technology used in CIPER is its main element and creed of the team.

With the help of TOR onion services, we achieve our primary goal – serverless architecture, where every phone is both client and recipient. By excluding the main thread, servers, we eliminate any chance of MITM (Man-In-The-Middle) attacks.

The next step is secure transport within the onion network built on top of plain old HTTP. To secure our clients and keep data private, we use Ethereum Blockchain as a great pool of encryption keys. These keys are combined with major keys that are generated once a connection is established. The combination of keys allows us to obfuscate keys from messages and deliver only parts of them within the encrypted message. The other part is obtained via secure onion requests to Ethereum Blockchain. Without any of the two keys, it’s technically impossible to crack encryption. We use the Diffie-Hellman algorithm to exchange major keys and AES256 to encrypt every message, using a unique combination of major and random blockchain keys. Every user a client establishes a connection with generates new pair of major keys, so there are no collisions between your contacts. It protects your messages from being obtained by someone else, even your contacts. Messages are not stored in blockchain but do exist as a pending transaction for a short time, making it hard for someone to trace them. We value privacy and strive our bests to enhance encryption every day.
